Secondary research - anxiety.

To start my secondary research I looked at anxiety. I found three stories online written by people who have suffered from anxiety. These three particular stories have helped inspire me to portray this mental illness through photographs of different models. I have chosen to use models as a constant theme for my secondary research as they are seen as confident, glamorous people however, like Cara Delevingne, can still struggle with mental health issues.

For the first page I used a quote from a story where the individual felt disoriented. For the background I used a white piece of card. I then used the same distressed looking image of supermodel Adriana Lima twice and cut them into 1cm strips. I then glued them back together intertwining each strip to create a disoriented looked piece. I feel this page is successful as I like the effect intertwining the strips has given and I do feel it creates the disoriented look I was going for. I wouldn't change a thing about this page only to neaten up the edges the strips.

For the second page on anxiety I used a story by a women called Rita Chins that I found online. I have taken parts where she talks about avoiding certain situations she would usually accomplish during her day to day life as they cause panic attacks, therefore she has distanced herself.
I have used a picture of Gigi Hadid and cut it up into even squared, separating them to portray the action of distancing herself. I feel this page works well, but If I were to redo this page, I would rethink how I could portray this in a more creative way.

For the third page on anxiety I used a quote from a story where an individual experienced haziness while having a panic attack. To portray this within my sketchbook I used a black and white photo of Kate Moss, printed onto a black piece of card for the background. I then used pieces of shredded cotton wool and placed it over her face to illustrate the illusion that her head is in a cloud creating haziness. I feel this page has gone very well and turned out better than I would have hoped it to. I would not change anything about this page.
