Jewellery Workshop 4/5
In the final session of the jewellery workshop I continued with the ring band. In the previous session I soldered two pieces of copper together to create the width of the ring band to portray the tree trunk. In the last session I used a ball point hammer to warp and manipulate the band, in some parts the band came apart where the solder hand not stuck but I left it like this as I felt it resembled a tree more in this form. I then clamped one end in a vice and used pliers to twist the band before using the hammer again to bend it around a treble to form the ring. I then used solder to stick on the treehouse, then placing it in the pickle to clean it. When I took the ring out of the pickle some of the copper had transferred onto brass treehouse so I used a file and wire wool to remove it.
