Moodboards.

My project for my FMP is 'Vintage Beach'. To start this project I began by making mood boards on relevant aspects to fit within my theme. I started by looking at 1960's beach fashion such as the styles and patterns in bikinis, along with common elements you would find on a beach such as beach huts and ice cream. I used images online to present on my board which will later help me influence my later designs for my final piece. I then drew out beach huts, ice creams, candy floss and fashion illustrations presenting beachwear. I also created bunting made from 1960 styled patterns and colours. All these were then coloured using mixed media such as pencil, acrylic and gauche paint. They were then presented on a board painted with a pale blue gauche. I like this board as I feel it is creative and clearly displays my theme for this project.

For my second mood board I looked at events that happened in the 1960s, for my projection, in particular the Mods and Rockers War of 1964 as it occurred on a beach in Brighton. I found this event very interesting as it shows both culture and styles of the two opposing gangs.
As the fight was heavily publicised on the news and in the papers, I began this board by layering the background with newsprint, then collaging photographs of the two sides on top. I also used illustrations from the Mods and Rockers to draw from to also collage onto this page.

I feel this page looks very engaging as there is lots going on displaying may photographs of the two gangs. As I am also looking at fashion within this project, this page is very helpful in getting a feel for two very popular styles within this time. Other than small gaps within the background there is not much I would change about this page as I feel it is very successful.
