As the project is based around Sam Shendi's exhibition 'Mother and Child' I visited his work at the Civic Gallery. I like his work and the abstract take he has used. I think the way he has used the colour blue to represent pain and struggle the mother feels through pregnancy is clever and works really well.
To show this in my sketchbook I used photographs I had taken at the gallery and placed them on a background influenced by two of his sculptures and their colours and shapes.
