From a very early age, my inspiration has been to work in the architectural department. I feel this is an ideal career for me because I have travelled to various countires on family holidays; from experiences abroad, I have seen how I can make a good contribution to this area of work and further research about various structures and their relations to society and the environment. I am hard working, committed to my goals and want to help others for the better. I am also confident that my choice of Level 3 Art and Design Extended Diploma, will provide me with the solid foundation needed to proceed to undergraduate level.
The practical side of art and design will enable me to gain good technical skills and I am eager to acquire more developed and sophisticated techniques at university. The theoretical side will improve my written communication skills, which I believe to be important for any subject at university.
Throughout my life I have always been committed to my work and always had a long term goal and interest in learning about different buildings and becoming an Architect. I have a lot of influences since many of my family members have become architects and structural engineers and have become my role models to achieve my goals. Since primary school, I had seen myself helping and changing the environment and lives of others in the future. I feel that I have advanced this intention further by developing the necessary skills needed to become an architect, by teaching myself architectural softwares such as Revit, Google SketchUp and photoshop. As well as this, it includes, being committed and hard working as extended master courses can be up to seven years long, being friendly enabling me to build a rapport with clients and put them at ease in stressful situations and being able to deal with stress myself in tough times.
