Today I focused on creating rough sketches for each of my doors, which I can then use to draw up accurately on google sketch up.
Design 1.
This is my Frank Lloyd Wright inspired door. I have taken his idea of a wooden structure and interpreted this within my design creating a solid oak door. I also looked a existing doors which helped me conclude my final design. See sketch up for full explanation.
Design 2.
My second design is inspired by Norman Foster. I liked how his buildings are build from glass, therefore creating my own door in a similar way. Doing this has allowed me to take on a literal approach to 'Let the Outside in' by visually letting the outside in.
Design 3.
My third design is a more simplified door compared to what I have done previously. Whilst researching I found many images of doors with grooved lines which I wanted to incorporate in my doors. As the theme of let the outside in I thought about how to incorporate this within this style of door. After looking back through my architecture research I decided to use Zara Hadids use of patterns within my work. On the inside panel of this door will be a flower pattern that is cut out with lights placed behind to illuminate the pattern. Frosted glass will also be used.
